At Watts Performance Horses, we use
natural horsemanship techniques with every phase of training.
TJ believes that horses have innate, natural abilities that must
be identified and then enhanced in order for a horse to perform
at his or her best. Hours and hours of ground work are
completed before a horse’s first ride. Every horse gets at
least thirty days (60 for two year olds) of outside riding
before work in the arena. Each horse is advanced individually
and started slowly on cattle to allow their natural abilities to
come forward. This is when we see a horse’s natural talents and
usually we can clearly tell at which events the horse will
excel.
